Vision Statement of the NY Annual Conference....

THE NEW YORK ANNUAL CONFERENCE THROUGH THE GRACE OF GOD, EMBODIES THE BELOVED COMMUNITY OF HOPE, BUILDING UP A HEALTHY BODY OF CHRIST, WITH HEART-WARMED UNITED METHODISTS IN MISSION FOR THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE WORLD.

Our Vision Statement....

WE ARE THE CHURCH AT FIVE CORNERS SPREADING THE "LIGHT OF CHRIST" FROM OURSELVES TO THE COMMUNITY AND THE WORLD.

What We Believe....

As United Methodists we believe that the purpose of the church is to make disciples for Jesus Christ.  To do this, we reach out to others, welcome them, and work to gather people into a fellowship where they can grow in faith.  Here are some of our basic beliefs:

THE UNIVERSAL CHURCH – We believe that the Body of Christ is both local and global so we work in cooperation with Christians of other denominations to minister in the world.

THE TRINITY – With Christians of other traditions, we believe in God as trinity – Father/Creator, Son and Holy Spirit.

PREACHING – United Methodist preaching is grounded in scripture, draws on the historic tradition of the Christian faith, relates to contemporary life, and is tested by reason.

GOD’S GRACE – We recognize that suffering and evil exist in the world, but believe that God’s grace, offered to all without price, is found everywhere and that God’s plan of peace and justice for all people is happening in the present and will be the future reality.

PERSONAL & PUBLIC WORSHIP We believe that private prayer and regular worship are both necessary for faith to grow.  We believe in two sacraments – Baptism and Communion – as ways that God provides us with grace.
