Greetings from the Education Work Area,
We hope everyone had a wonderful summer. We are excited about welcoming all of our children and young people back to Sunday school and to begin a new confirmation class. Registration for the new school year will be on September 7 and continue throughout the year as we hope to always be able to welcome new students. The first day of classes will be September 14. All children will go to church with their family for the beginning of the Worship Service and then be invited to go to their classrooms during the first hymn. We have created a calendar to help everyone see our plans for this year. Tammy Edwards-Wilson will be our Sunday School Superintendent this year. We thank her and our dedicated teachers for providing a loving and caring place for our young people to learn about our faith. The Children’s choir will be beginning soon under the direction of Heather Edwards-Wilson. Stay tuned for her announcement. We are so grateful to her for sharing her musical gifts with our children.
We will be welcoming our 7th and 8th graders to begin their Confirmation journey. Instruction will begin on September 14. A parent meeting will also take place after the worship service that morning. This is a two year program. Our goal is to create an understanding of what it is to be an active member of the church while growing in faith. We are hoping to see our new members attend church and serve in the many missions that our church is involved in. We are busy working on a program for our youth. We are in transition, stay tuned for future announcements.
We are always looking for volunteers to substitute teach, lend a hand in class, and this year form a team to lead our youth. Thank you to all of our teachers and helpers and to you the parents who faithfully bring your children to our programs. We are blessed!
